Partners HealthCare Health and Fitness Expo is seeking Partners employees and their family members and friends age 16 and older to volunteer to distribute health information, direct visitors to free screenings and exhibits and greet visitors and celebrity guests June 23 and 24 at the Hynes Convention Center. The BWH chapter of the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) awards educational scholarships in the amount of $1,000 and educational support awards of up to $500 to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria. Learn more about the American Heart Association’s Start! Program, which encourages people to walk at work. Representatives from BWH and the American Heart Association will be at a table outside the Cafeteria June 12, 8 p.m. – midnight, and June 13, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., and at an information session June 13, 2-3 p.m., in Carrie Hall.
This continuing education program—offered in English and Spanish—is open to all but aimed at patient care assistants, medical assistants, outreach workers and childcare providers. “Learn and Teach the Asthma Basics,” is June 30, 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. The cost is $20 or $15 if you pre-register. Call ext. 2-7464 for registration and information.
