This week’s JCAHO tip: If you are exposed to blood or other body fluids, take these immediate steps: wash or flush the affected area, page the STIK beeper (3-STIK) or 37845, notify your supervisor, go to Occupational Health Services (or to the Emergency Department when OHS is closed), report an exposure within one to two hours and complete an incident report.
