Neurosurgery last week celebrated the opening of its new suite adjacent to Neurology’s outpatient practice. The Nesson Pike suite boasts state-of-the-art equipment, comfortable examination and consult rooms and houses a physician workroom to foster multidisciplinary collaboration and teaching. Also, the patient-centered facility includes the Brain Science Foundation Resource Center where patients can access computers, literature and other resources.
The open house was attended by BWH staff, physicians and leadership, as well as Steven Haley, a BWH trustee, and his wife Kathleen Haley. During the open house, Peter Black, MD, chief of Neurosurgery, took a moment to acknowledge the Haleys’ kindness to BWH. “I would like to thank Steven and Kathleen, on behalf of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, for their tremendous support and continuous generosity to the development of neurosciences here,” Black said. “Their gifts help make possible staff educational opportunities, resources for our patients and expansions like this one.”
