BWH this week launched an improved and enhanced Internet site at www.brighamandwomens.org available to the public. The new and improved home page has a user-friendly design, tons of dynamic photographs and several new features, including, new standardized templates for content, drop-down menus to streamline navigation throughout the site, common left-side navigation to enhance user-friendliness and search boxes on all pages to facilitate customer inquiries.
"Our enhanced and redesigned site makes it easier for our patients, their families and the general public to learn about the people, programs and excellent care at BWH," Vicki Amalfitano, vice president for Marketing and Planning, said.
Redesigning and launching the new hospital Web site was a careful and thorough process that involved many BWHers from more than 100 departments under the hospital's Web Committee, which included Amalfitano, CIO Sue Schade, Public Affairs Vice President Peter R. Brown, Associate Chief Medical Officer and Director of Primary Care Robert Goldszer, MD, MBA, and Fred Wang, MD, of the Department of Medicine. The Web Committee and departmental Web editors provided valuable input during the needs assessment and redesign process. "The dedication and hard work of so many at BWH is evident in this new site," Amalfitano said.
Specifically, Paulette Bouchard in Marketing and Keith Vargas in Information Systems led this massive undertaking. "The dedication, professionalism and leadership of Paulette and Keith were instrumental to the redesign process," Amalfitano said. "I encourage everyone to visit www.brighamandwomens.org."
