Several BWHers are featured in a display highlighting America's women doctors who have made important contributions to medicine. "The Changing Face of Medicine: Celebrating America's Women Physicians" will be at the Countway Library at 10 Shattuck St. from March 13 through April 20.
The traveling display at Countway is based on a larger National Library of Medicine (NLM) exhibition, which included BWH's JudyAnn Bigby, MD, director of Community Health Programs; Paula A. Johnson, MD, MPH, chief of the Division of Women's Health and executive director of the Connors Center for Women's Health; Carol Nadelson, MD, director of the Office for Women's Careers; JoAnn Manson, MD, DrPH, of the Department of Medicine; and Barbara McNeil, MD, PhD, of Radiology. The Countway Library exhibition's opening celebration is March 23 at 4 p.m., followed by a reception at 5 p.m. Paula Johnson will participate in a panel discussion "On Being a Woman in Medicine" at 6 p.m. RSVP to giordana_mecagni@hms.harvard.edu or 617-432-6206 to reserve a spot for the panel discussion.
The library hosts several other events throughout the exhibition, including a panel discussion, "Gender Equity in Medicine and Global Health Policy," moderated by Carol Nadelson on April 10, 4-6 p.m. RSVP to dfredberg@partners.org.
