Radiology at Faulkner Hospital remains at the forefront of technology with its cross-sectional imaging suites and its installation and implementation of some of the latest diagnostic imaging equipment available. Next month, the hospital brings online its second CT scanner, a Siemens 16 slice scanner with CT fluoroscopy that can be used for better visualization during interventional procedures. The existing four slice scanner will be upgraded to a Siemens 64 slice scanner, which is one of the fastest and most technologically advanced units available.
According to James Mastromatteo, MD, chief of Faulkner Hospital Readiology Department, these acquisitions make Faulkner's CT department one of the most advanced community teaching sites in the country as BW/F Radiology at Faulkner provides ambulatory and inpatient services including MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Interventional Procedures and Diagnostic X-ray in addition to the enhanced CT capabilities.
