12 Years in a Row!
For the twelfth consecutive year, BWH was recognized on the U.S. News & World Report's annual Honor Roll of "America's Best Hospitals," ranking 12th overall. Massachusetts General (MGH) also made the list, ranking third. Once again, BWH and MGH were the only Massachusetts and New England hospitals to make the Honor Roll.
“Our consistent presence on the Honor Roll for more than a decade is reflective of the hard work, exceptional skill and tremendous dedication of the staff and employees of this institution,” said President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA. “Thank you for making this a truly remarkable place to work and receive care.”In the magazine’s ranking of the best hospitals in 17 specialty areas, published in the July 12 issue, BWH ranked among the top 10 in five categories including cardiology/cardiac surgery, hormonal disorders, gynecology and rheumatology and ranked first in kidney disease.
U.S. News evaluated eligible hospitals based on reputation, mortality and a number of other factors related to patient care, including nursing and technology to determine the 14 institutions designated on the annual Honor Roll.
Other Partners members also earned high honors. McLean Hospital was ranked fourth among psychiatric programs, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital placed eighth among rehabilitation centers, and Dana Farber Cancer Institute was fourth in cancer services.
