At a town meeting for staff and employees at 850 Boylston on March 17, Mairead Hickey, RN, PhD, vice president of Women’s and Specialty Services, unveiled plans for expanding ambulatory services at 850 Boylston Street with new and expanded services such as endoscopy, infusion, women’s health primary and specialty care, imaging, laboratory, rehabilitation and women’s musculoskeletal services. Since 1991, several BWH practices have successfully grown at 850 Boylston, including the Brigham and Women’s Physicians Group, Boston Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates, the Brigham and Women’s Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, and the Department of Radiology at Chestnut Hill. With space increasingly dedicated to patient care, the 850 campus provides convenience and proximity to BWH and Faulkner Hospital for patients and providers.According to Hickey, “The build out of 850 Boylston will help us in the pursuit of an important goal for BWH—that of providing care and services in convenient locations for patients and providers. We believe our new practices will greatly benefit from the experiences and successes of the practices and employees already at 850. Our goal is to make the site even more of a destination by offering a full scope of integrated specialties and services.”The renovations at 850 Boylston Street will take place over the next two years, with endoscopy and infusion expected to open in May 2005. Plans call for women’s health, radiology and rehabilitation, as well as laboratory and support services, to open by the winter of 2006.Look for more updates in future issues of BWH Bulletin.
