Thank You
The following excerpts from letters sent by patients and their families following their hospital stay reflect the quality of compassionate care delivered throughout BWH.
To the staff of 8D: As sad and tragic as the 200 plus days with you may have ended, my sister and I want you to know you were indeed (our mother's) “second family” during her stay. She trusted you all, had complete faith in your abilities and so did we. That made it so much easier to handle the “roller coaster” of our mother's condition.
The care and love you showed (our mother) can never be measured. I want to especially thank Denise (Horgan, RN) for the “peanut butter party” we had during our mother's final hours in April. This was her favorite snack along with a cup of tea, and you allowed us to share that final snack with her. We will never, ever forget that! Please take comfort knowing that she loved you all.
To Christina Grintchenko, RN (Tower 16AB): Just a note, as late as it is, to thank you again and again for the wonderful care you gave me while I was recovering from my total hip replacement surgery. You have a wonderful blend of competence and compassion, and I felt safe in your care. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Danielle Daley, RN (Tower 16AB) is such a kind and helpful person. She really
understands how to attend to all of a patient's needs and just goes above and beyond. She is on top of everything and should be commended for the work she does.
