Applications Due March 1
Now marking its fourth year, the Mary Fay Enrichment Awards program--made possible by the generosity of former patient Yousuf Karsh and his wife, Estrellita—provides the opportunity for nurses to travel, observe and learn. The award program is already having an impact, as former recipients have been able to observe best practices at other institutions and bring them back to BWH.
All BWH nurses are invited to apply for the Mary Fay Enrichment Awards. Interested nurses are asked to discuss the opportunity with their nurse manager or supervisor and then write a short description of the proposed project, the amount of funding they will need (up to $5,000), and how the findings will either promote patient and family satisfaction, teach other health care providers about compassionate care or improve collaboration among their fellow caregivers.
Mary Fay Enrichment Award applications are due in the Center for Excellence in Nursing Practice, 10 Brookline Place West, Suite 3060, by March 1, 2003. For more information about the award, to discuss ideas, or for help preparing the application, please contact your nurse manager, supervisor, or one of the nurse researchers at the Center for Excellence in Nursing Practice at 617-525-3050.
