Celebrate BWH Research Day, November 15
From the state-of-the-art medical and surgical
research environment of the Advanced
Multimodality Image Guided Operating (AMIGO) suite to landmark research
initiatives such as the Nurses' Health Study, BWH has led the way in cutting-edge, translational research
in cancer, genetics, regenerative therapeutics and much more.
To celebrate the best and brightest in BWH
research, the BWH Biomedical Research Institute is inviting faculty, staff,
patients and the public to the first annual BWH Research Day on Nov. 15 from 8

The day-long celebration will feature a welcome
breakfast hosted by hospital leadership with a discussion on BWH's strategic
commitment to innovation and discovery, more than 150 research posters
throughout the hospital, and talks by world-renowned experts on popular health
topics ranging from aging, obesity to personalized medicine.
There will be a keynote address from BWH physician

"BWH
is a leader in research and discovery," said Barbara Bierer, MD, BWH
senior vice president of research. "Our first annual BWH Research Day
is a way to showcase our research enterprise to our patients, visitors,
industry and, importantly, the public in general. Progress in medicine
depends upon these partnerships-with pharma, patients and the public. We look
forward to communicating the importance of our research and the engine that it
is for both the local economy and patient care."
