Dear Colleagues:
BWH and Dana-Farber continue to operate collaboratively one comprehensive adult clinical cancer center, offering the best of both institutions to a critical patient population.
The Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center (DF/BWCC) has gained much momentum over the last couple of years, and it now serves as one of BWH's five named centers of excellence around which the hospital's strategic plan is being executed.
The vision of the DF/BWCC is to become the world's leader in the delivery of oncology care. As an innovator in cancer detection, treatment and science, both organizations have helped bring family-centered care to a growing number of patients. The plan is to mature the center to provide our oncology patients with the best health care has to offer-a comprehensive, seamless continuum of multidisciplinary care with state-of-the-art capabilities strengthened even further by robust academic programs.
Such direction will allow us to serve as the cancer care resource for New England, acting as a Longwood Medical Area hub with regionally distributed sites of care.
Sincerely,

Andy Whittemore, MD
Chief Medical Officer
