In This Issue:
Occupational therapists evaluate and treat patients on the basis of how physical, cognitive and psychological implications of illness or injury affect a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. These daily activities include everything from getting up and dressed in the morning to going to bed at night. An occupational therapist’s knowledge of splints, adaptive equipment and modifications for home help to increase the patient’s independence and promote a safe, successful discharge from the hospital.
