These BWH departments now call One Brigham Circle their home
After years of preparation, planning and development, staff and employees of Partners HealthCare System (PHS), including many BWHers, were able to pack up their offices and move into the new facility at One Brigham Circle on June 6.
“Not only will Brigham Circle provide much needed office and conference space, it will be a valuable asset to the neighborhood,” said Stephen Dempsey, director of Planning and Construction for PHS. “This addition is an extension of our commitment of service and involvement with the Mission Hill community.”
In addition, One Brigham Circle, commonly referred to as the “Ledgesite Building” to many at BWH, will provide the Mission Hill Community with greater access to overnight parking, an urban plaza and enable a variety of retail functions in the neighborhood. Retailers such as Stop & Shop and Walgreens will be the principal tenants on the second floor, bringing in more business to benefit merchants including a variety of restaurants and banks already in the area.
“One Brigham Circle will clearly contribute to the revitalization of the neighborhood by bringing in new businesses as well as patrons for both new and existing merchants,” said Maggie Cohn, director of Mission Hill Main Streets. “We urge people working in the building to get involved in community activities and explore the neighborhood.”
BWH serves as the “corporate buddy” of Mission Hill Main Streets. The hospital’s presence at One Brigham Circle is yet another opportunity for employees to be connected to the hospital’s community.
