On April 3, Partners Asthma Center celebrated its 25th anniversary with a dinner and dance at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge.
The event brought together medical providers, asthma patients and representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations all committed to improving asthma care and to one day finding a means of prevention and a cure.
Honorees included Vivek Murthy, MD, MBA, a hospitalist at BWH and BWFH and nominee for U.S. surgeon general, Stacey Chacker, director of the Asthma Regional Council of New England, and Frank Twarog, MD, PhD, president of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America's New England Chapter, who were recognized for their contributions to asthma and preventive medical care. Special guests were Felix Arroyo, chief of Health and Human Services for the City of Boston, Stanley Ashley, MD, BWH's chief medical officer, and Timothy Ferris, MD, MPH, vice president for Population Health Management at Partners HealthCare.
