Karen Bryan, senior technician in Histology, (second from left) guided a tour through the lab and gave children hands on practice looking at tissue under the microscope. The Histology tour was among the highlights of Take Your Children to Work Day in April. BWH hosted activities and tours for the nearly 70 children who visited the hospital to get an up-close look at careers in the medical field. In addition to shadowing their parents and sponsors, children toured Radiology, Pathology, the Blood Bank, Blood Donor Center, Biomedical Engineering, Image Servicing/Radiology Imaging, McRae Lab and Food Services. Pictured on cover: Gloria Rosario-Ruiz of OR/CSS with nine-year old Aviel.
