In just one year, the Security and Parking teams at BWH programmed 11,261 new employee ID badges, parked 769,105 patient and visitor cars and upgraded multiple computer and camera systems.
“Our teams accomplish an extraordinary amount of work each year,” said Robert Chicarello, director of Security and Parking. “We work 24/7 to keep our staff, patients and visitors safe and to ensure that patients are able to easily access the hospital through our valet service.”
The teams celebrated a year’s worth of accomplishments and handed out awards to outstanding team members during a recent Security and Parking Awards Dinner at the Longwood Galleria.
Shelton Pinnace was named Security Officer of the Year, John Gomes took home the Dispatcher of the Year Award, and Security Supervisor of the Year went to Darren Lang. On the Valet side of the department, staff were named employees of the year in the following categories: Abby Argaw, cashier; Ben Bekali, supervisor; Bladimir Tejeda, valet; Esdras Perez, transporter, Wilson Quinones, customer service; and Johnny Pereira, comeback employee (an award for employees who previously worked at BWH, left and then returned).
