New lobby displays at 75 Francis St. feature a Donor Wall, left, and a themed display by the Department of Communication & Public Affairs.
If you’ve set foot in the 75 Francis St. lobby in the past month, you’ve probably noticed new displays that showcase BWH staff, patients and benefactors who contribute to the hospital’s mission.
The three displays, which were unveiled in January, feature the hospital’s first Donor Wall, consisting of two panels created by the Development Office that are dedicated to generous BWH benefactors, and one panel by the Department of Communication & Public Affairs that will shine a spotlight on a particular subject, changing throughout the year.
The current Department of Communication & Public Affairs display, next to the Emergency Department, highlights the critical role hundreds of researchers play in transforming the care of cancer patients and discovering ways to prevent the disease.
The Development displays recognize the most generous BWH benefactors and members of BWH giving societies, such as the Legacy Society, the Hippocrates Society and the Pillar Society. These two displays are the first to be dedicated to BWH donors and their important role in helping BWH carry out its mission of patient care, research, teaching and community service.
Each display also features a TV screen that, in the spring, will feature a touch screen with a multimedia presentation that tells the story of philanthropy at the hospitals through videos, pictures and donor profiles.
Renovations to the 75 Francis St. lobby included an update and relocation of the book and award section to an area adjacent to the Emergency Department and the lobby elevators.
This new area will continue to feature medical and academic books published by BWH medical staff.
BWH faculty and staff who are interested in displaying a book they authored may send it to Maija Galins (PB-4), or e-mail mgalins@partners.orgfor more information.
