During National Blood Donor Month, the Blood Donor Center and Joint Program in Transfusion Medicine would like to thank those who have donated and those who will donate blood to save lives. Please remember, employees are allowed one hour of hospital time every 56 days to donate blood. To celebrate, the Blood Donor Center is hosting weekly raffles throughout the month of January, including a grand prize raffle for a gift certificate to the Union Oyster House restaurant. BWH sweatshirts will also be given to those who donate. Also during January, the Blood Donor Center invites all BWHers to participate in the BWH Department Challenge. A pizza party will be awarded to the winning small (under 100 employees) and large (100+ employees) departments, who donate the highest percentage of blood. If your department has less than 50 people, the Blood Donor Center will team you up with a department of similar size.
