Susan Jackiewicz, MHA, last month was named practice administrator for the multidisciplinary Watkins Cardiovascular Clinic, a two-floor ambulatory practice within the Carl J. and Ruth Shapiro Cardiovascular Center.
“Susan brings a great deal of talent and experience to this important role,” said Debra Rogers, executive director for Cardiovascular Services. “She is skilled in developing strategies and processes to improve quality of care and patient satisfaction.”
Jackiewicz is responsible for building the multidisciplinary clinic to provide collaborative patient-centered care, further enhancing BWH’s cardiovascular excellence. She will oversee the operations and finances of the clinic, which includes Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Vascular Surgery and other cardiovascular-related service lines.
“It’s very exciting to be so close to the opening of the Shapiro Center after more than five years of planning,” Jackiewicz said. “There is an enormous amount of work to be done, but also an enormous opportunity for both patients and clinicians. The opening of Shapiro is only the beginning of our journey.”
Jackiewicz has served since 1999 in the Cardiovascular Division of the BWPO, first as practice manager and most recently as associate clinical administrator. She was responsible for managing the operations of Cardiovascular Medicine’s ambulatory practice. Prior to joining BWH, she held positions as a service coordinator at the Department of Mental Retardation and a program coordinator at North Suffolk Mental Health Association.
Jackiewicz received her master’s degree in health care administration from Framingham State College, her master’s degree in social work from Salem State College and her bachelor’s degree in education from Boston University.
