What’s changing?
New HR Systems Affect Timekeeping, Paychecks and More“A change for the better” is how Cheryl Locke, vice president, Human Resources (HR), describes the new PeopleSoft HR/Payroll system, the new Kronos timekeeping system and the overall improvements to employment-related processes. These systems make up the iBridge project, which will undergo its first phase of implementation this fall.
The name iBridge was chosen because the new system will act as an “information bridge” between employees and their critical HR information needs. By bridging together many of the hospital’s HR functions, access to benefits and payroll information will be made easier and more efficient.
iBridge technology will eliminate many HR paper transactions. The new web-based system will streamline labor-intensive processes, saving time and effort for managers and others. One of the greatest benefits of iBridge, according to Janet Dussault, director, HR, is that the system “puts control in the hands of the users.” Employees will be able to perform routine tasks, such as address changes, and managers will have access to HR information directly from their desktops. Managers will be able to track the status of various transactions independently rather than relying on a third party for information.
“As a result of these changes, HR and Payroll will be better able to serve you,” added Dussault.
In preparation for the fall roll-out, managers, supervisors and timekeepers are now undergoing training. All employees will receive Employee Self Service (ESS) training beginning in the late fall. To learn more about iBridge or to register on-line for classes, visit www.bwhpikenotes.org.
