THE Volunteer of the Year Award honors an individual committed to service above self, while helping BWH fulfill its mission of quality patient care, teaching and research excellence. The award is presented to a volunteer who has demonstrated superior leadership in the development of a new program, exceptional service to a department or outstanding customer service skills. The Volunteer of the Year upholds the values of BWH-teamwork, respect, embracing change and leadership-and assists the hospital in promoting these values through BWH and the greater Boston community. Volunteers with more than one year of service are eligible for nomination. Anyone in the hospital may nominate a volunteer, but must receive approval from the volunteer's immediate supervisor. Nominations are limited to one volunteer per department. For more information or to nominate a volunteer, see the enclosed insert or call Volunteer Services at ext. 2-5998. Nomination forms are also available at www.bwhpikenotes.org by clicking on Hospital Information and selecting Awards and Recognition from the dropdown menu. Nominations are due on or before March 27.
