Ever have childcare plans fall through at the last minute? BWH’s new Backup Childcare Center at 850 Boylston St. can help. This new center assists employees when they need emergency childcare. For example, employees can use this service when their child’s care giver is ill or school is closed. The center also accepts reservations when employees know in advance they need backup childcare arrangements.
“Very few employers do things like this, and we should be proud to work here,” said Kris DeGraw Danna, director of Volunteer and Community Access Services.
The center, which accepts children from 8 weeks old to 12 years, is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and costs $6 per hour. Employees can use the center a maximum of 20 days per year and no more than five consecutive days.
