BWH is recruiting volunteers for the Kronos Early Estrogen Prevention Study (KEEPS), which examines the effects of hormone therapy on atherosclerosis, quality of life and cognitive function in recently menopausal women.
“Emerging evidence suggests that women who are younger and recently menopausal have more favorable outcomes on hormone therapy than do older women. We hope that this trial will help to better define the role of hormone therapy in this population, as well as clarify the effects of oral versus transdermal estrogen,” said JoAnn E. Manson, MD, DrPH, chief of the Division of Preventive Medicine at BWH and the Elizabeth F. Brigham Professor of Women's Health at HMS.
