December 8 Annual Tree Lighting ceremony
The annual Tree Lighting ceremony in Mission Hill will be held on Dec. 8 at 12 noon. The event will take place at Brigham Circle, outside BWH’s 15 Francis Street entrance. All employees are invited to attend. Mayor Menino has been invited, along with students from neighborhood schools, to sing carols and the light the tree. A visit from Santa is also expected. Refreshments, compliments of BWH, will be provided.
December 14 & 15 Holiday Decorating Contest
Participate in the 2nd annual Departmental Holiday Decorating Contest. Themes should convey a winter holiday. Awards for most creative, most culturally diverse and best overall. Judges will view all decorated departments on Dec. 14 and 15 and the winners will be announced at the Dec. 21 Administrative Leaders Group meeting. To sign up or for more information, contact Jacqueline Ashby at ext. 6584. ** Decoration must comply with the Combustible Decorations Policy as defined in the Fire Safety section of the Staff Guide to a Safe and Healthy Working Environment.
December 14 Mission Hill Holiday Stroll
Tour the Mission Hill Holiday business district with stops along the way for food and entertainment. To participate, meet in the Peter Bent Brigham lobby (15 Francis Street entrance) of BWH at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 14. For more information, call Mission Hill Main Streets, 427-7399.
December 20 The BWH Taskforce on Homelessness
The BWH Taskforce on Homelessness will provide a meal, entertainment and gifts to the residents of the Barbara McInnis House in Jamaica Plain, a health care facility for the homeless. This annual holiday event will take place on Dec. 20 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
