On a brisk, sunny afternoon in December, children from the Tobin and Farragut Schools gathered around the pine tree in Brigham Circle for the annual tree lighting event. While the children sang carols with Santa Clause and a guitar player, the chilly breeze seemed to subside. The event was sponsored by the city’s Office of Neighborhood Services and co-sponsored by BWH and Mission Hill Main Streets.
“This is a festive event that starts the holiday season in Mission Hill and having neighbors and students participate is a perfect touch to the ceremony,” said John McGonagle, BWH Ambulatory and Community Health Services. “BWH is pleased to be a partner in this annual event.”
After the crowd of children, teachers, BWH employees and spectators counted down from ten, the tree was illuminated with countless white lights.
