Brent L. Henry has been appointed Partners vice president and general counsel, effective June 1. He comes to Partners with 17 years of senior level legal experience in the health care field. Since 1985, Henry has been general counsel for MedStar Health (formerly Medlantic), which includes Georgetown University Hospital, and is the largest health care network in the Baltimore/Washington area. Similar to Partners, MedStar is an integrated delivery network, with more than 4,000 physicians and 22,000 employees. Henry is an active civil leader, serving as a member of the Board of Governors of the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center and a Trustee of Princeton University. He is a past president of the American Health Lawyer’s Association. In addition to his other legal experience in private practice, Henry taught a course on health care law for 13 years at Howard University’s School of Business and Public Administration. As Deputy Administrator of the New York City Human Resources Administration, he directed the city’s Medicaid program.
Henry received a JD from Yale Law School, as well as a masters degree in urban studies from Yale. He received his bachelors degree from Princeton University.
