Staff and employees who would like to make changes to their benefit plans may do so during the next open enrollment period, which will run from October 23-November 6. During that time, staff and employees will have the opportunity to review benefit choices and make changes for the coming year. “Benefairs” will be held in the Connors Center Lobby on Monday, October 23, 1-5 p.m.; and Friday, October 27, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. See next week’s Bulletin for a more detailed schedule, including “Quickstop” information. Call Kathy Herman at 724-6460 for more details. United Way and Tobin Campaign The 2000-01 United Way/Tobin Campaign will soon be underway with a goal of $100,000 for United Way and $50,000 for the Maurice J. Tobin School. BWH employees are encouraged to support either or both of these causes through payroll deductions or a one-time contribution by November 3. One of the goals of this year’s campaign is to increase employee participation. Be sure to sign up early—prizes will be raffled off weekly, and the earlier you sign up, the more chances you have to win! For more information on how to contribute, call Maria Damiano at ext. 7250. On My Own Time Staff are invited to share their hobbies and interests with colleagues in the On My Own Time 2000 showcase, to take place October 25-26 in the main lobby at 75 Francis Street. For more information about On My Own Time, contact the Volunteer Office at ext. 5998. Lupus Awareness Month Lupus awareness is encouraged in October, and throughout the year. BWH employees who suspect that they may be at risk for the disease are encouraged to contact their primary care physician and/or rheumatologist. For more information on lupus awareness, contact Bobbie Drake-Saucer at 525-1067.
