On July 24 and 27, Girls Scouts representing 38 states and five countries visited BWH to learn about first aid and the health care industry. Nurses and doctors from the ED simulated car accidents care responses including splints, slings, resuscitation, IVs, and defibrilators for the group of enthusiastic cadettes and seniors. The scouts also learned about the diverse opportunities available in health care.
Sponsored by the Patriot’s Trail Girl Scout Council, the “Healthy, Wealthy and Wise” International Wider Opportunity program focuses on leadership in medical and business careers. While in Boston, the scouts also visited universities and museums.
