Partners HealthCare CME Accreditation Update
The
Partners Office of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will soon
celebrate its first anniversary of providing CME credit for Partners
HealthCare-affiliated institutions.
As
part of its mission, the Partners Office of CPD provides developmental support
and designates CME credit for programs including tuition-based courses and
symposia, in-hospital rounds and conference series, such as grand rounds, and
online programming. It also supports innovative teaching models that foster the
integration of education and quality improvement initiatives, such as re-licensure,
re-credentialing and re-certification. The office also designates credit for performance
improvement continuing medical education (PI/CME) and team-based inter-professional
education (IPE) activities, which are strategic priorities for Partners as a
pioneering Accountable Care Organization (ACO), helping to advance the
principles of patient-centered care and population management strategies.
Other
services include an online learning management system (LMS), which is accessible
at www.phscpd.org and will phase in
enhancements that will further reduce administrative workloads; and Single Sign
On (SSO), which allows all Partners employees to access the LMS using their
Partners user name and password.
In-hospital
rounds and conference series may request Partners' sponsorship and CME credit
at no charge. These activities will continue to be subsidized, ensuring
continuity and supporting the ongoing excellence of Partners' teaching mission.
