New Delinquent OP Notes Suspension Policy
Effective August 16, 2004, the deadline for delinquent operative notes changes
from 30 days to seven days, in accordance with both hospital policy and state
and JCAHO regulation. Notification of un-dictated op note(s) will be sent by e-mail
two days from the date of surgery. A physician with operative note(s) delinquent
seven days will be suspended, thus losing operating privileges. The suspension
of scheduled cases will be effective two business days from the date of suspension.
Any future OR blocks of time reserved for that physician will be released immediately.
The physician may not schedule any additional cases before the completion of the
delinquent operative note(s).
