Massachusetts Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert Gittens, paid a visit to BWH on Tuesday as part of a tour of hospitals he is undertaking to best understand the challenges facing the health care industry.
During his visit to BWH, Gittens met with BWH President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA, who provided him with an overview of key issues impacting BWH and hospitals throughout the Commonwealth. Gittens then toured several areas of the hospital, including the Emergency Department, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and got a first hand view of the much touted MRT.
Gittens’ visit included discussions with BWH caregivers, including Richard Zane, MD and Judy Perron, RN in the ED, Steven Ringer, MD in the NICU and Clare Tempany, MD and MRI technologist Jim Rosato who provided insight into the capabilities of the MRT.
