Tobin School students choose their own hats, mittens and gloves donated by Caps for Kids.
This holiday season, the Caps for Kids program donated more than 8,000 items such as caps, scarves, sweaters and other winter gear to children in Boston elementary schools, preschools, community health centers, Head Start and homeless programs, as well as newborns in BWH’s nurseries.
“The best part of delivering these caps is to see the children get excited about a very special gift someone made just for them,” said Joan Casby, PT, of BWH, who along with Candace Lowe, ScD, of DFCI, continue to team up and recruit volunteer knitters from both institutions on behalf of the program.
Donations of caps, scarves, mittens and other items are accepted year round. E-mail jcasby@partners.orgfor more information.
