A three-month bike tour across the U.S. that raised money for the Partners MS Center culminated in Boston last month. Before arriving at the Partners MS Center, Donald Fraser, Devin Petry, Karl Miller and Mason Cavell stopped at many homes along the way to help with chores and other odd jobs that are difficult for people with MS.
“Reaching out to people with MS on such a personal level was extremely generous of these four men,” said Howard Weiner, MD, who welcomed the bikers to the Partners MS Center last month to thank them. “Their fund-raising efforts for our center here at Partners moves us closer to the day that we have a cure for the disease.”
During the visit, Fraser, Petry, Miller and Cavell had lunch with staff and toured the center.
“To see the research projects and meet the researchers made it very clear to us that we biked for a noble cause and that our efforts will make a real difference,” they wrote on their blog. “It was humbling to be in the company of people who make a tangible difference in people’s lives every day…It was a special day for all of us and one we will not soon forget.”
