David Buffalo, material coordinator, ESA supervisor, Emergency Department, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War at the age of 19. Buffalo was deployed to Vietnam, where he was stationed at Khe Sahn, serving in the ground forces for over 11 months. “My tour in Vietnam has been beneficial to my work in the health care setting in that it has helped me to understand how people feel when they are sick,” said Buffalo. “The experience helped me to better command my job at BWH to help make patients feel that they are truly being cared for.”
Buffalo, who once considered a career in the military, has been with BWH for 12 years, where he says he “found his niche and home.”
