Elaine Kellmurray, BSN, RN, who began her nursing career at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital more than 30 years ago, died March 27, 2007, after a lengthy illness. She was 63 years old.
“Elaine was a great nurse and colleague,” recalled Sharon Kohler, MSM, RN, CRNI, program manager of IV Therapy. “She was easy to get along with and always more interested in her co-workers and patients than herself. And she was a very skilled IV nurse.”
Ms. Kellmurray, a resident of Canton, graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, NY, and joined the nursing staff at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in 1971. She had earned her BSN from Northeastern University. She had been a valued member of the IV Team.
Ms. Kellmurray, daughter of the late Raymond and Delia Kellmurray, is survived by a sister, Cheryl Erickson of Plattsburgh, NY; a brother, Raymond Kellmurray of Saginaw, MI; and several nieces, nephews and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02401, or to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
