Password Self Service begins next week when the first phase of BWHers will be required to create a new password to log onto the PHS network. This change is needed to comply with federal regulations and HIPAA. BICS keys for clinical systems will remain unchanged and separate from the new PHS Network password.
The first phase for Password Self Service begins March 14, as the roll out plan is alphabetical and staff whose last names begin with A, B or C will go first and subsequent groups will follow in the next two to three weeks.
Resetting passwords can be completed easily through “My Profile,” which is the Password Self Service Application. A direct link to “My Profile” will appear on the screensaver login on March 14. After you receive an e-mail notifying you that you have been enrolled in Password Management and need to create your new eight-character password, you can use this link to “My Profile” to create your new password or change it at any time.
New PHS Logon Password:
• must be a minimum of 8 characters
• must contain at least 1 alpha and 1 numeric character
• is case sensitive
• can contain punctuation or special characters
• must be changed every 180 days
• cannot be re-used within a 2-year timeframe
• cannot contain all CAPITALS
