Career Coaches Needed
The Student Success Jobs Program (SSJP) is one of several programs BWH coordinates to give students hands-on experience in the health care field through paid internships in a variety of BWH medical and research departments. For example, Gladys Fashote, a sophomore at Boston Latin Academy and an aspiring pharmacist, usually finds herself in the microbiology lab as part of her SSJP job, and recently she had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Kyran Mitchell in Trauma, Burn and Surgical Critical Care on 7D as part of the program's career coaching element.
Amy Belyea, Youth Programs manager for the Office for Women, Family and Community Programs, is looking for physicians willing to allow SSJP students to shadow them. For more information, e-mail abelyea@partners.org
