A new guideline on urinary incontinence has been released as part of a series in Women’s Health Guideline Series that to date also covers breast disease, cardiovascular disease, cervical cancer, common gynecological problems, depression, domestic violence, hormone replacement therapy, infertility, musculoskeletal disorders, obesity and osteoporosis. Each guide is compiled by a team of BWH experts led by Editor Soheyla Gharib, MD, and Women’s Health Guidelines Director Mary D. Chapin, RN. Included in, “Urinary Incontinence: Guide to Diagnosis and Management,” is information regarding the medical impact and different types of treatment to be used as a resource for physicians and nurses treating patients with incontinence. In addition to these physician guidelines, a guide for patients is also available. Guidelines are available on the Partners Handbook website as well as www.bwhpikenotes.org To obtain a copy, call ext. 2-8878.
