Scholar Program Leadership Award Dennis Thomson
Nominations are now being accepted for two important recognition awards that both originated from the remembrance and impression of one of BWH’s most significant leaders—the late Dennis Thomson, former vice president of Public Affairs. The sixth annual Dennis Thomson Leadership Award and Compassionate Care Scholar Awards will be presented on March 31.
The Leadership Award is presented to a staff member, who exemplifies the tenants of leadership instilled by Thomson, who was often referred to as the “conscience of BWH.” He, along with other effective BWH visionaries, set a strong example from which BWH’s current leadership commitment statement and competency model were derived. The award honors an effective leader and mentor who exemplifies those traits. Past Thomson leaders include Maria Damiano, Nancy Hickey, Mary Lou Moore, Paula McNichols, and Dot Goulart.
The Compassionate Care Scholar Awards recognize employees from any discipline who embody the principles of compassion in their daily work and exemplify it most at the bedside of patients. The scholarship awards provide seed money to support projects that benefit our patients.
To learn more about either of these awards or to place a nomination, visit www.bwhpikenotes.org or see the enclosed insert. Nominations will be accepted until Friday, January 7.
