The BWH Center for Bioethics invites all hospital faculty and staff to apply for the first annual BWH Ethics Award. Staff working in any professional or administrative discipline within BWH-including those who do not have direct clinical, patient care or research responsibilities-are encouraged to apply.
The award's purpose is to enrich the ethics capacity at BWH by fostering expertise in biomedical ethics within the hospital community. The two recipients receive tuition and reimbursement for travel and lodging expenses to attend the Intensive Bioethics Course offered by the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University June 6-11.
Recipients must articulate how the knowledge gained from the course will help them further the culture and discourse of ethics at BWH. In addition, the training must enhance the recipients' abilities to contribute an ethics perspective to their professions or disciplines.
The deadline for applications is April 1. For more information, visit www.brighamandwomens.org/ethics/award.asp
