Lee Sklar, applications analyst II, Information Systems (IS), believes hard work and superior customer service are the recipes for getting the job done. Staying true to this motto while working as IS project manager on the BWH Patient Safety Initiative in Adverse Event Reporting earned him the title of this month’s Service Hero.
“Teamwork was the main factor for getting this award - I couldn’t have done it without the cooperation of many the cooperation of many other Partners IS professionals as well as BWH users,” said Sklar. The Safety Reporting System, a year-and-a half in development, now allows users to enter Incident Reports in a centralized place, for improved tracking and follow up. “Working closely with various BWH departments has enabled us to implement a solid approach that will help the hospital as a whole.”
Sklar was nominated by Erin Graydon-Baker, BWH Center for Clinical Excellence, who said the project could not have been completed without Sklar’s commitment. “Lee worked endlessly with IS representatives at other Partners hospitals, making this a very valuable Partners-wide initiative for comparing medical errors and possible solutions.”
