March is National Social Work Month. This annual celebration acknowledges the important work of social workers here at BWH. The Department of Care Coordination is staffed by clinical social workers, who collaborate with patients and families and providers throughout the BWH and DFCI communities. While providing comprehensive psychosocial support, advocacy, and care for patients and families, social workers function with compassion and professionalism. Whether it is general medicine, transplant, cancer, outpatient or OB services, social workers respond to the multiple and varied needs of patients. All employees are encouraged to join the hospital in saluting these integral members of the health care team.
BWH offers the following group work programs: Brain Tumor Support Group, Latina Women’s Support Group, Post Surgical Support Group for Patients with Epilepsy, Teen Prenatal Group, Pregnancy/Neonatal Loss Parents Support Group, Support Group for Women Experiencing Domestic Violence by Intimate Partner, Pregnant Women on Bed Rest, Renal Transplant Support Group, Chronic Kidney Disease Support Group, Lung Transplant Support Group, Secondary Infertility Support Group and MS at Home Telephone Support Group.
