Two Quality Leadership positions have been established within the Partners Healthcare System Cardiac Service Line to provide oversight of its quality improvement agenda.
Andrew Eisenhauer, MD, Cardiovascular Division, BWH has been appointed PHS director for Cardiac Quality Improvement and Arvind Agnihotri, MD, Cardiac Surgery Division, MGH has been named PHS director for Cardiac Surgery Quality Improvement.
In their new roles, Eisenhauer and Agnihotri will work with clinicians across the system to establish and design measurement and improvement strategies. Specifically, Eisenhauer will provide oversight for the JCAHO core measures for acute myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure and the Massachusetts DPH angioplasty (PCI) quality improvement initiatives. Agnihotri will provide oversight for the Mass. DPH cardiac surgery (CABG) quality improvement initiatives. Both will report jointly to the PHS Cardiac Service Line Executive Committee as well as to the PHS Signature Initiative Team III.
“We believe this structure will capitalize on much of the work that has already been accomplished and enable us to advance our system-wide quality efforts more quickly,” said Patrick O’Gara, MD, director, PHS Cardiac Service Line.
