Thank You
The following excerpts from letters sent by patients and their families following their hospital stays reflect the quality of compassionate care delivered throughout BWH.
Dear Dr. Gottlieb:
This letter is to share with you the incredible kindness and professionalism my family and I received from your staff throughout this ordeal (caring for my 85-year-old mother). Your Nursing staff on Tower 15 and 10 were exemplary in their professionalism and courtesies extended to my family and me. Thank you for making an already stressful situation more manageable by not forgetting the human element.
Dear Terry Morreale, RN, PACU:
I want to take this opportunity to let you know how wonderful it was for me to come out of anesthesia to see your smiling face and your kind, reassuring voice telling me I was OK. It was the first time I had ever had major surgery, and having you there impacted my recovery in the most positive way. My recovery is going really well, and I'm looking forward to walking with my dogs soon.
Dear BWH:
I want to particularly express my appreciation in regards to the excellent care I received from Steve Blacher, RN, Carol O'Sullivan, RN, Elena Incollingo, RN, and Andrea Merlin, RN. Each supported me with outstanding care, excellent professional services and a real empathetic human spirit. As an Episcopal priest for many years, I have visited many hospitals and served as a chaplain (at an academic medical center). While this was my first experience as a patient, I am aware of the challenges and demands placed on today's nurses, and at every point BWH nurses did an outstanding job. Please accept my sincere thanks.
To the Staff on Connors Center 7:
My heartfelt thanks to all of you for the physical and emotional care you provided without hesitation. The ability to do this cannot be taught. You all simply have it!
