Donnelly Named Nurse Manager of 10AB
Sharon Donnelly, BSN, RN, MBA, in October was named nurse manager of Tower 10AB. She previously was the data quality nurse for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at BWH and has served in a variety of roles caring for Cardiology patients.
“No matter her role, everything Sharon does is exemplified by quality,” said Mary Lou Moore, MSN, RN, CCRN, director of Cardiovascular Nursing and Clinical Services. “She brings a solid range of experience with cardiovascular patients to her new position.”
As manager of 10 AB, Donnelly is working with 53 nurses, 18 patient care assistants and six unit coordinators. The patient population includes interventional cardiology patients on 10 A, and intermediate medical/surgical patients on 10B.
“This is an exciting opportunity to work with a motivated and energetic staff, as well as a group of very talented nurse managers and leaders at the hospital,” Donnelly said. “Cardiology is my passion, and I look forward to bringing the interventional cardiology pod to the Shapiro Center in 2008.”
Donnelly joined BWH in 1995 and has held positions including manager of Cardiac Services for Care Coordination, staff nurse for the Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit and the Cardiovascular Recovery Room and utilization review/discharge planner for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.
In her most recent position as data quality nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab, she designed and implemented a program for mandatory reporting of clinical data to the state Department of Public Health and the American College of Cardiology. She also analyzed data reports to identify trends and opportunities for quality improvement efforts.
Donnelly earned her BSN from Rivier College and her MBA from Boston University.
