To recognize the first group of registered nurse students to complete the BWH/ Massachusetts Bay Community College cooperative Perioperative Nursing Program, a certificate ceremony was held on December 19 in the Bornstein Amphitheater. A total of 14 registered nurses were presented certificates.
BWH’s commitment to teaching and mentoring combined with its need to expand perioperative nursing resources, led Director of Perioperative Nursing Services Peggy Doyle, RN, MSN, to initiate a partnership with Massachusetts Bay Community College. The college’s Director of the Surgical Technology Program Patricia Caggiano, RN, MSN, CNOR, and BWH’s Nurse Educator for Perioperative Services Helen Cluett, RN, MSN coordinated the course. The course began in September and ran every Tuesday and Thursday until December 15.
