The Massachusetts Nurse Association District 9 presented Nancy O’Malley, RN, with the 2000 Excellence in Nursing and Staff Education Award on October 19.
As the staff education instructor in the Center for Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology, O’Malley is responsible for keeping more than 30 staff members current on the newest technological developments. She was recognized for her ongoing education in a subspecialty where a technology break-through can be obsolete in months.
In addition, the award recognized O’Malley for her patient care and her efforts to transition her department to a paperless documentation system. Peg Angel, Bill Partridge and Tom Blanchard recommended their peer for this award.
