One Vision - One Goal…Enhancing the Future of Health Care
To learn more about the redefined BW/F vision, attend the Feb. 25 Town Meeting at 11 a.m. in the Bornstein Amphitheater hosted by BWH President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA.
Charting a course to become the academic and community hospitals and physicians of choice, Brigham and Women’s/ Faulkner Hospitals (BW/F) rolled out a bold and comprehensive new vision that will further its role as a leader in health care. The vision is derived from a mission of “providing the highest quality health care to patients and their families, to expanding the boundaries of medicine through research, and to educating the next generation of health care professionals.”
“The BW/F Vision will guide our priorities as our hospitals and physicians continue to evolve to address the shifting dynamics of the health care industry,” said BWH President Gary L. Gottlieb, MD, MBA. “This is a critical starting point, a foundation upon which we can base and execute future strategies to meet our mission.”
The BW/F vision of excellence will serve to guide an effective strategy for Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Faulkner Hospital, the Brigham and Women’s Physician Organization and the BW/F community practices. This strategy, in turn, will create value, patient satisfaction and loyalty leading to profitability and growth.
Patient Care
A hallmark of the vision is a strong focus on customer service that will distinguish BW/F as it integrates across the organization into a system of care characterized by innovative and best practices of patient care delivery. The future will be highlighted by the redevelopment of BW/F facilities consistent with the delivery of innovative and efficient care. Management systems will be designed to foster the evolution of this care.
Research
Research is the most tangible reflection of the limitless curiosity and drive of the BW/F researchers. As the source of knowledge that leads to discovery, the research mission of BW/F will remain a significant channel of the organization’s commitment to science that improves care. The BW/F research vision seeks to capitalize on opportunities that enhance our collective ability to prevent disease, as well as to expand our base of scientific knowledge.
Education
BW/F is envisioned to be in a perpetual state of learning, innovation and development. Leadership will be a hallmark of this organization. Through the BW/F education vision, innovative training opportunities will be encouraged and explored to prepare the next generation of caregivers and industry leaders to meet the complex challenges of the future. Members of the community, patients and health care professionals will be incorporated into the BW/F focus on education.
People
The clinicians, researchers and staff of BW/F are its greatest asset. A satisfied, fulfilled and diverse staff that understand their roles and respect the roles of others is an essential element towards achievement of the BW/F vision and goals. BW/F is committed to providing the resources its providers and employees need in order to be successful.
