Under the leadership of Leo F. Buckley, Jr., director of Business Services for Patient Care and Shirley Walsh, project manager, Patient Care Services, staff have taken on the challenge of collecting and identifying 100 years of Patient Care Services photographs from the BWH archives. Now in the process of being framed, the photographs will soon be on display throughout the walls and in the offices of the Nursing Administration/ Patient Care Services area.
“We want to bring the rich history of Patient Care Services alive,” said Buckley. “We have collected more than 20 photographs that tell the story of nursing and patient care from the very beginnings of BWH’s predecessor institutions. We hope this project will bring greater meaning to the work we do today – reminding us that no matter how things change, taking care of the patient is always our primary focus.”
